King Laurin's Dwarf Realm

The Catinaccio (German: Rosengarten) and Latemar are some of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the Dolomites. They tower over the Eggental and the Tiersertal and create the "gateway to the Dolomites" from Bolzano. Legend claims that Laurin, a Dwarf King, had a rose garden ("Rosengarten") here, that you can still see today in the glowing red light.

Today the holiday region is a true holiday paradise. In summer, a large number of wonderful mountain tours are on offer around the mountain range - whether you want to explore the area by foot or by mountain bike. In winter the skiing regions at the Skicenter Latemar and the Ski Area Karersee offer fantastic skiing and snowboarding opportunities, with over 60km of pistes. Cross-country skiers will find a network of over 100km of cross-country tracks, and there is also a large variety of snow-shoe and winter hiking tours.
