Latemar - Labyrinth climb

An easy walk to magnificent wide clearings, plus the stony landscape of the Latemar with wonderful views of the Rosengarten group.

Drive to the Karer Pass, 1740 m.
The route leads through forest and across the Latemar meadows, up as far as the entry to the small Latemar wind gap. Here you stand directly below the vertical Latemar Towers, approx. 2,000 m. After descending approx. 100 metres you enter the "Labyrinth", a colossal landslip made up of bizarre, fantastic boulders, through which the track snakes. At the end of the rock labyrinth you walk in a gentle descent to the Mitterleger, 1,820 m, a miraculously beautiful larch clearing with a forest hut and a spring. The way back takes you through the magnificent Karer Forest to the Karer Pass.
