Bold eagle's eyrie on the roof of the Latemar

Oberholzlift mountain station - Gamsstall - Gamsstallscharte - Forc. Valsorda - Rif. Torre di Pisa - Zischgalm - Reiterjoch - Meierl Alm - Oberholzlift

Perched like a bold eagle's eyrie, the Rifugio Torre di Pisa is the Latemar mountain region's only manned staging post on the rocky ridge of the Cima Cavignon. Of the shorter access routes, the one from the Oberholzlift mountain station through the Gamsstall is the most interesting. It passes not only some magnificent views, but also attractions such as the Gamsstall Towers wilderness, the upper Valsorda cauldron, the Tower of Pisa and the Latemar rock windows. The house is the visible result of the willpower and hard work of a fan of the mountains. Refuge warden Camillo Gabriello built it with his family in eight years of arduous work, thus giving the Latemar region new impetus.
